Modification TWT to increase output power

An OM italian from the IQ4DF team (http://www.crbr.it/ I don't remember the call sorry to him) has described modifications to do on TWT to improve output matching in order to increase output power. The complete power point presentation can be downloaded under  TWT output matching improvement.pdf

Voir quelques explications sous Press and Peel.htm

First trial on 23cm EME with my new station

I worked on January 27/28 on 23cm. It was my first trial with my brand new station and surprised, for my first key down , I could hear my echoes about 8dB above the noise. I was working with LDMOS PA which give 130W and I have planned to couple few such device in parallele to get little more power. I use the same 12 foot solid dish with home made tracking than for 3cm. The feed of the antenna is base on OK1DFC septum.
I worked in CW LA8LF, LA9NEA, ON7UN, OK1CA, LX1DB, K5JL, ES5PC, RW1AW, IK3COJ, G3LTF
Then few stations in JT65C: ES5PC, ES6RQ, SM5LE, JA6AHB
Of course all of them are for initial. I will now spend some time to get this system heavy-duty and waterproof , specifically the 26V power supply which was temporarily installed in the food of the mast. I have planned to be on the air for the upcoming contest.

Circular polarisation trial with DK0SB

G4NNS activate DK0SB Bochum 20m antenna with 40 TWTA. Those trials were planned to analyse circular polarisation and effect on signal spreading.

Brian transmit key down continuous signal in vertical linear polarisation during 2 hours.

The receiving signal on my side was in the range of 28 to 30dB over the noise (BW~3Hz) with 3.7m dish and vertical linear polarisation.

Very stable and strong signal during the 2 hours of the test.

At the end of the test time at 14H40 I have got heavy rain in my location. I did not see any significant loss on the signal neither spectral spreading.
